Its development began in the Soviet period, and the resort buildings stand near the Seven Bulls formations. This is a built spa complex with a history of mineral-water bathing, distinct from the rocks, the village and the higher Kok-Jaiyk pasture.
Visit with a clear purpose: looking at the resort setting, arranging accommodation and booking a bathing service are different activities. The local destination organisation notes that some parts of the old complex are no longer in use. Confirm the actual operating building and reception arrangements instead of wandering into closed wings.
The sanatorium can form a quiet lower-valley stop before a separate mountain walk. Allow flexibility for transport back to Karakol, especially if your excursion continues beyond the resort towards the forested valley.
Plan your visit
Getting there
Road approach from Karakol to the resort; confirm reception and any booked services.
When to visit
Confirm the operating dates of the chosen service; mountain walks have their own season.
Good to know
Confirm local access, opening arrangements and any entry rules before travel. Respect protected sites and local communities; leave the place as you found it.

Issyk-Kul Region
Jeti-Oguz: Seven Bulls Rocks
The red rock wall known as the Seven Bulls is the signature sight of Jeti-Oguz. It stands near the entrance to a mountain valley southwest of Karakol, where the exposed red formations give way to greener slopes and higher pastures.
Issyk-Kul Region
Kok-Jaiyk: Valley of Flowers
Kok-Jaiyk is the pasture-and-forest landscape beyond the familiar Jeti-Oguz resort area. Often called the Valley of Flowers, it offers a reason to continue exploring after the red rocks.
