This GPX was supplied for the catalogue. Current route conditions have not been checked on the ground. The file alone does not establish an alpine grade or a recommended trip time. The displayed length may differ from the device reading after track processing. Where points are far apart, the straight line does not show the exact trail.

Elevation profile

Elevation values come from the source file. Inaccuracies can affect total ascent. Gaps in the track are not joined.

Recorded trip time: 13:47. Includes stops; this is not a recommended schedule.

Surface and terrain

The source does not provide a complete surface survey. Expect conditions to change after rain, snow and river floods.

ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

The northern approach to Kel-Suu lies in the high valley country of southern Naryn Region near the Chinese border. It is a landscape of open valley ground leading towards a much more enclosed rocky lake basin. The approach valley is a geographical setting in its own right, not simply another name for the lakeshore.

Kel-Suu beyond it is recognised by elongated water and steep enclosing rock walls. That contrast explains the destination’s appeal, but a journey towards the lake can end while still in the northern valley. The supplied long travel line is associated with that approach country; the lake page supplies destination context without implying that its final point stands beside the water.

This long supplied line ends in the northern approach valley, approximately 6.7 km from the identified lakeside viewpoint; lake arrival is not asserted.

ROUTE OVERVIEW

At a glance

A 683 km travel track from Almaty to the valley north of Kel-Suu. It ends before the lake; the vehicle or activity type is not confirmed.

User-supplied reference geometry; not independently field-verified. No alpine grade, access road, season or recommended completion time is established by the file. The source has widely spaced points; straight map edges do not establish a continuous surveyed path. Dense stationary/GPS variation was reduced with a 1 m planar simplification tolerance; published length can be shorter than the unsimplified point sum.

Track length: 683.4 km. This distance covers the track shown on the map. Add any approach, return or transfer sections that are outside it.

Is this route for you?

Choose the route after checking the actual start, finish and terrain with a local guide. Mapped geometry alone does not establish technical difficulty. Your group should be comfortable navigating offline and changing plans when conditions deteriorate.

Getting there

The first point is the start of the supplied geometry, not a confirmed vehicle-accessible trailhead.

Without a car

Confirm transport to the actual trailhead, not just the nearest town. Agree the return pickup point and a latest contact time before leaving mobile coverage.

By car & parking

Ask locally about road access, entry rules and a permitted place to park. Use the line only for its stated mode of travel and exact scope.

Difficult sections & safety

Mountain weather can change quickly. Rain affects traction and river crossings; snow can remain on shaded slopes. Never assume a mapped line confirms a safe crossing or a passable trail. Check recent conditions locally, set a turnaround time and leave your plan with someone who can raise the alarm.

How much time to allow

Historical file time is not a recommended schedule.

When to go

The GPX does not establish a suitable season; assess current conditions for this specific line.
