It is distinct from Semenov Gorge, which follows Kichi Ak-Suu towards the open Kyrchyn pastures. A combined excursion can visit both, but the names should remain separate when choosing a meeting point or reading a map.
Agree how far into the valley you intend to go. A lower riverside stop, a walk towards the mountain lakes and a cross-valley transfer require different amounts of preparation. The presence of seasonal yurts does not confirm a particular camp’s location, operating dates or spare beds. Obtain those details from a named host.
The area can be combined with thermal bathing near Chon-Oruktu, provided the actual facility and return transfer are chosen beforehand. The pools and the mountain valley are separate destinations: road conditions in the gorge cannot be inferred from the ease of reaching the northern lakeshore.
Named Grigoriev Gorge locality node in Issyk-Kul Region; geographic gorge reference, not road entrance.
