ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
The Jeti-Oguz–Karakol mountain setting brings together two river valleys of the Terskey Ala-Too. The red formations near the lower Jeti-Oguz resort are only the beginning of that landscape; upstream, pasture areas such as Kok-Jaiyk lead towards higher basins and dividing ridges.
Karakol Gorge has its own river corridor and coniferous slopes on the other side of the mountain connection. The Telety name identifies part of the high crossing geography rather than a town between the valleys. The interest of a journey here is the transition between two distinct catchments and their different views into the same range.
