They should not be confused with Ak-Suu Kench near Karakol or with the baths of Altyn-Arashan. The name describes warm water, but the location matters more than the spelling when arranging a vehicle or discussing where to stay.
A visit can be combined with time in the lower gorge, provided the approach and bathing arrangements are confirmed. Ask which facility is operating, whether a reservation is needed and what changing facilities are available. Do not assume that every reference to a natural spring identifies a maintained public pool.
The main attraction is the combination of thermal water and a mountain-valley setting. Keep the trip unhurried enough to enjoy the surrounding river landscape and to return without rushing an unfamiliar road. Bring suitable footwear for wet surfaces and a dry layer for the journey afterwards. This guide makes no treatment or health claims about the water.
Use Kyzyl-Suu and the Chon-Kyzyl-Suu gorge name together when explaining your plan locally. A photograph of a bath elsewhere around Issyk-Kul is not evidence of what is provided here; request current practical information for this particular spring.
