ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
Keskenkiya belongs to the mountain walking country around Jyrgalan, east of Karakol in the Issyk-Kul region. It is associated with an extended circuit through pasture and ridge terrain rather than a single monument in the village.
The setting is interesting for the way neighbouring valleys and high slopes are connected around the Jyrgalan basin. Moving around the mountains brings changing views of the same village hinterland, with the open grazing landscape forming an important part of the experience. The circuit name identifies a particular mountain itinerary within this wider region; it is separate from a journey all the way to the Boz-Uchuk lake area.

Difficult sections & safety
Mountain weather can change quickly. Rain affects traction and river crossings; snow can remain on shaded slopes. Never assume a mapped line confirms a safe crossing or a passable trail. Check recent conditions locally, set a turnaround time and leave your plan with someone who can raise the alarm.
How much time to allow
No verified walking duration for this exact GPX. Choose daily stages after assessing ascent, descent, terrain, river crossings, daylight and the approach/return distance.
