The full line displayed by this specific public TrailTrack route map. Source surface-split lines are joined only at identical adjacent source endpoints. It is not the protected GPX file, and source planning or altitude does not establish a recorded or field-verified route. The public source preview has sparse points: its longest existing edge is 1306 m. This is a coarse reference outline, not precise navigation geometry.

Elevation profile

Elevation values come from the source file. Inaccuracies can affect total ascent. Gaps in the track are not joined.

How to read these figures

These figures belong to this specific TrailTrack itinerary. They must not overwrite metrics of another GPX, even with similar names. Source calculated time is separate from its editorial day plan and is not a recorded duration.

Source reported ascent and raw public-profile sum differ. Method is unverified; retain both bases and do not call either independently measured.

ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Gastello is the named high-mountain focus of this circuit above Karakol Gorge in the Terskey Ala-Too. The setting lies beyond the lower river valley, among rocky upper ground and glacier-influenced mountain basins south of the eastern Issyk-Kul region.

The interest is the enclosed alpine landscape rather than the lower forest outing from Karakol. A circuit in this country links different views of the upper basin and its surrounding ridges; snow and ice belong to the physical character of the high ground. Gastello’s mountain setting should therefore be distinguished from the city of Karakol and from a general stroll along the gorge floor.
