How much does a trip to Kyrgyzstan cost? Start with the services you will actually book: a seat on a bus, a car for your group, a bed, a riding horse or a tent. This guide gives published provider prices in US dollars, explains the charging units and builds example budgets from them. A shared transfer and a private 4×4 journey can have very different totals even when both visit Issyk-Kul.

Prices checked: 19 October 2026. These are advertised tariffs observed online, not confirmed reservations or a national average. Some providers do not date their price lists. Availability, season, rental duration and inclusions must be confirmed for your travel dates.

Currency conversion: USD, som and euro

The conversion uses 1 USD = 87.4500 KGS and 1 EUR = 98.3375 KGS, the NBKR reference values displayed by MBANK on 19 October 2026. Thus €1 is approximately $1.1245. Som and euro quotes retain their original amounts in the tables. Converted figures are rounded to cents; cash exchange rates, bank fees and card conversion can differ. For example, 2,000 som is about $22.87.

Read the unit before comparing prices

A vehicle is usually a group expense; a bus seat and a meal are personal expenses. A guide’s day rate is different from hiring a horse for each rider. A refundable deposit affects the cash or card limit you need, but is not an ordinary trip expense if returned in full. Separate these items in your worksheet rather than combining every dollar figure into one misleading daily rate.

Self-drive car rental: daily rates and deposits

Published by Nomad Car Rental.

Self-drive car rental: daily rates and deposits
Service USD Original price Charging unit
Economy / compact $50 50 USD per car/day; 8+ rental days
Sedan / crossover $60 60 USD per car/day; 8+ days
7-seat SUV / minivan $80 80 USD per car/day; 8+ days
Mountain-road 4×4 $100 100 USD per car/day; 8+ days

The advertised starting rates require at least eight days. The listed deposit is $300 for the first two classes and $500 for the last two. A 1–3-day rental costs $10–30 more per day. Confirm the actual model and approved roads; a class price does not reserve a particular car.

A car with driver: what the daily price includes

Published by RideKG.

A car with driver: what the daily price includes
Service USD Original price Charging unit
Sedan + local driver $110 110 USD per vehicle/day
Sedan + English-speaking driver $135 135 USD per vehicle/day
Land Cruiser / Prado + local driver $200 200 USD per vehicle/day

These rates include the car, driver and fuel for up to ten hours and 250 km per day. Driver meals and lodging on overnight trips add $30 per night. Extra distance and time cost more; a separate guide starts at $100/day. Your own food, rooms and entrance fees remain additional.

Motorcycle hire and a riding guide

Published by AsiaMixTravel.

Motorcycle hire and a riding guide
Service USD Original price Charging unit
BMW F650GS / Dakar $160 160 USD from, per motorcycle/day
Optional guide on a second motorcycle $200 200 USD additional, per day

The provider lists a refundable $500 deposit, unlimited mileage and separate fuel payment. The guide is an optional extra rather than part of the $160 hire rate. Request a total for your dates and the insurance terms. Seven hire days at the advertised minimum are $1,120 before other spending.

Bicycle and e-bike rental in Bishkek

Published by FreeBike.

Bicycle and e-bike rental in Bishkek
Service USD Original price Charging unit
Seasonal bike rate, September–October $21.37 19 EUR per bicycle/day
Seasonal bike rate, June–August $24.74 22 EUR per bicycle/day
CYCTRAC eMTB EM5 e-bike $58.47 52 EUR per bicycle/day; model rate

FreeBike quotes euros; the dollar column is our conversion. Seasonal standard-bike pricing and the e-bike model price are different products. Ask which bike and size the quote covers, and whether bags, helmet, repair supplies and collection/return days are included.

A mountain bike in Jyrgalan

Published by Destination Jyrgalan.

A mountain bike in Jyrgalan
Service USD Original price Charging unit
Mountain bike, full day $22.87 2000 KGS per bicycle
Mountain bike, half day $17.15 1500 KGS per bicycle

The local offer includes helmet, elbow and knee protection. It is a village rental rather than a promise to deliver a bicycle elsewhere. Confirm availability and the return time before choosing a route.

Horse hire, a guide, food and a village overnight

Published by CBT Toktogul / Ozgorush.

Horse hire, a guide, food and a village overnight
Service USD Original price Charging unit
Riding horse $11.44 1000 KGS per horse/day
Local guide $28.59 2500 KGS guide/day; clarify guide’s horse
Family homestay $7.43 650 KGS per person/night
Lunch or dinner $8 700 KGS per person/meal

These are Ozgorush component prices, not a national CBT tariff. We converted the published som figures ourselves: the source’s parallel dollar column contains an inconsistent taxi conversion, so that taxi price is excluded. Confirm transfers, the guide’s horse and breakfast separately.

A serviced yurt camp and hourly horse riding

Published by Nomad’s Dream.

A serviced yurt camp and hourly horse riding
Service USD Original price Charging unit
Yurt shared by 3–4, breakfast $60 60 USD per person; accommodation tariff
Yurt for two, breakfast $81 81 USD per person; accommodation tariff

Yurt shared by 3–4, three meals $100 100 USD per person; accommodation tariff
Horse riding $15 15 USD per person/hour
Horse guide, up to five guests $30 30 USD per group/hour, additional

These are one camp’s published prices per person, not per whole yurt. Confirm the number of nights covered, occupancy and meal plan in the booking. For two people riding for one hour, the listed horses and one group guide total $60: 2 × $15 + $30.

Camping equipment rental in Osh

Check collection and return dates, temperature rating and condition. Rental does not automatically include stove fuel, a damage deposit or cleaning. For two people, one tent, two bags, two mats and one burner total $29/day; three days are $87 before fuel and any other charges.

Public transport and local taxi examples

Published by Destination Karakol.

Public transport and local taxi examples
Service USD Original price Charging unit
Bishkek–Karakol marshrutka / night bus $5.72 500 KGS from, per seat/one way
Shared taxi Bishkek–Karakol, lower listed fare $11.44 1000 KGS per seat/one way; listed range 1,000–1,500 KGS
Karakol city marshrutka $0.23 20 KGS per passenger/ride
Private taxi Karakol–Jyrgalan $17.15 1500 KGS from, per car/up to four passengers

These are published examples, not live ticket inventory. The shared-taxi range of 1,000–1,500 KGS is about $11.44–17.15 per seat. A private-car fare is shared only by the people actually travelling. Recheck the departure terminal and luggage charge when booking.

Worked budget: eight days by car, two travellers

This is an editable planning example for a mainly paved-road trip, not a bookable package. Only the $50/day rental input comes from the advertised eight-day car tariff above. Lodging, food, fuel and visits below are our explicit spending allowances, not verified offers for named hotels or attractions. Replace them with quotes for your itinerary.

Illustrative spending plan for two
Item USD
Car: 8 × $50 $400
Room for two: 7 × $40 allowance $280
Food: 2 people × 8 days × $20 allowance $320
Fuel allowance $100
Parking and visits allowance $60
Subtotal $1,160
Chosen reserve: 15% $174
Group total including reserve $1,334
Per person, sharing equally $667

Keep the $300 refundable car deposit separate from the $1,334 spending plan. Flights, travel insurance, border permits if needed and any optional guide are additional. This small-car example does not cover rough mountain approaches; changing to a 4×4 changes the rental input and may change fuel use.

Worked budget: seven motorcycle days, one rider

At the BMW provider’s advertised starting rate, hire is 7 × $160 = $1,120. Add our illustrative allowances of six $30 nights ($180), seven $20 food days ($140), $70 fuel and $30 parking/visits: subtotal $1,540. A chosen 15% reserve adds $231, giving $1,771. The refundable $500 deposit is separate. Lodging, meals and fuel allowances are estimates, not provider quotes. Insurance, flights and optional guiding still need their own prices.

A horse outing: calculate components rather than an all-inclusive promise

Using the listed Ozgorush rates, two riding horses for one day, one guide day, two homestay places for one night and two meals for each guest add up to 8,600 KGS: approximately $98.34 for two. This is a component subtotal. Transfers, breakfast, any extra horse for the guide and other unquoted services are excluded. Ask the organiser to turn it into a complete offer before booking.

Costs that can change your total

  • Dates and duration: count both rental days and sleeping nights. An early pickup or late return can create another paid day.
  • Vehicle contract: ask about approved roads, mileage, delivery, cleaning, damage excess, recovery and the deposit release procedure. A map line does not establish rental permission.
  • Activity support: agree the guide’s role, language, number of guests, meals, lodging, return travel and extra horses. A village guide price is not a quote for a technical summit ascent.
  • Mountain nights: confirm the actual camp, opening dates, occupancy and meal plan. Keep transport to a remote camp in the calculation.
  • Payment: record the agreed currency, bank or transfer fees, cancellation deadline and refund terms. Obtain written confirmation of the final total and inclusions.

How to reduce spending without breaking the itinerary

Stay longer in fewer bases, combine neighbouring sights and share a vehicle with people following the same plan. Compare a rental’s total cost with a private driver after adding fuel, deposits and the driver’s overnight expenses. For a short visit, a town stay with selected day trips can cost less than moving accommodation every night. Keep necessary support and appropriate equipment in the plan.

Use our rental and travel-service directory, one-week Issyk-Kul itinerary, two-week Kyrgyzstan itinerary and yurt-stay guide to build a route-specific request. Compare identical dates, group sizes and inclusions, then save the confirmed quotes alongside your map and bookings.
