Too-Ashuu marks a dramatic transition from the northern slopes of the Kyrgyz Range towards the open Suusamyr Valley. The surrounding mountain scenery is a highlight of the Bishkek–Osh road, but the highway, tunnel approaches and mountain slopes require careful judgement. Treat this as a landscape to experience from permitted stopping areas rather than an invitation to stop on bends. Walking routes and winter activities are separate undertakings that need their own arrangements. Snow and poor visibility can affect travel even when the lowlands feel warm and settled.
